If you know me, you know tennis is my background.

Regardless, only a small subset of family and friends know I have been writing thoughts about life for nearly the past decade, while sitting of all places…at the piano.

Not being a trained musician or singer, the creative process has been (and still is) an enjoyable, though humbling experience. I would eventually purchase a midi keyboard, connecting me to the world of GarageBand, thus allowing me to surpass the limitations of my skill set.

A RODE microphone, on the other hand, has been a constant reminder my voice is far better suited on a tennis court than in a recording studio.

Fortunately, I know a gifted singer-songwriter who provided his talented voice and guitar on a few early selections. I only wish Shawn Welch lived in town.

As I continue to write and record, though, tapping into a mysterious inner voice, I find myself wrestling with the question, "What's my end game?"

Other than for pleasure, if a rough idea can blossom into something more, here’s hoping there might be some life to a few thoughts that became songs.

Thank you for listening.    Billy

thoughts that became songs (vol. 1)

This first "album" of twelve songs is an introspective look at certain events in my life. I preface each with a short "behind the scenes" description.  Written with a story-telling vibe, the genres include singer-songwriter, folk-pop, soft rock, and while at it, one reggae.
