It was 1984. A long dating relationship had ended. I was also not at my best as a pro tennis player. A change of scenery perhaps? Two months in Europe was the antidote. The star I later reference, who I had not yet met, would become my wife Sylvie. ©2012

I once went into a meeting with a closed mindset, ready for conflict, but had a change of heart during the encounter. I came home feeling considerably lighter, sat at the piano, and wrote about the experience. Performed by Shawn Welch (vocals and guitar). ©2012

One summer evening while driving home from work, the corner of our street was blocked. A family man's life was tragically cut short by a drunk driver. For the longest time, these bouquets (& others) were placed at the bottom of our street sign. Performed by Shawn Welch (vocals and guitar). ©2011

The motivation for this song was the courage of a 16 year old in our tennis program, who was chronicled on NBC's TV show "The Biggest Loser." Sanjana's nickname would become "Sunny," and you'll hear a reference to her name near the end. ©2012
